FLOORCLOTH CARE
Floorcloths are durable, dust-free and easy to care for in your home. A properly cared for floorcloth should provide you with many years of enjoyment.
The floorcloth should be used on a hard surface.
The floorcloth should be secured to the floor if it slips with wear. Any rug gripping product used for area rugs will work well. If you have an intricately cut shape, securing will also prevent it being caught by a shoe and torn.
Clean your floorcloth with a damp rag or mop, using a mild dish detergent when needed.
After a year or two of use, a thorough cleaning and a new coat of protective varnish may be applied. I use a water based polycrylic called Minwax.
If over time, your floorcloth frays a bit, the fibers may be trimmed with scissors and a bit of sealer or clear nail polish applied.
Floorcloths are not intended for use outdoors, but in semi-exposed environment (decks, porches, gazebos) use may be accomplished.
When storing, store flat or loosely rolled.
Enjoy your floorcloth!
